Mimi Choi is one of them – with her captivating visual magic, the artist has amassed 1.7 million followers on Instagram.
Surprisingly, her creations are often inspired by scenes she sees in episodes of sleep paralysis: “In addition to not being able to move, I see things,” she says. “When I do makeup on a stage, it never happens again.”
