While the pandemic has brought many challenges, it has also come with opportunities. From spending more time with family to starting a new hobby, it’s great to see that many people have managed to stay productive during these tough times. New York-based artist Anna Chan is one of the many people who found a new calling during the lockdown. From designing jewelry, she now creates stunning seashell sculptures of all kinds of animals.

Like many freelance journalists, Chan’s work was greatly affected by the pandemic. So, she made the most of her time off by spending time with her ten-year-old daughter, Isla. Chan often accompanies her to their local beach on Long Island, where they collect seashells. One day, when she started sculpting animals in the sand, she decided to put her creative hands to work again.
