Toshihiko Hosaka, a Japanese-based artist based in Tokyo, began creating sand sculptures while he was studying fine arts at Tokyo National University. Since his graduation, he has made sand sculptures and other three-dimensional works of art from a variety of materials for filming, shopping and other purposes. To prevent wind erosion and sharp changes in temperature and humidity, he applies a strong spray that can withstand several days.
