We see and use them every day, and everyday items have become fundamental parts of our daily lives. So, we are used to these things every day so they are not particularly interesting. But not for Russian-born, London-based visual artist Helga Stencel. With her playful imagination, she transforms even the most mundane furniture into fascinating characters.
Hanging washing machines transformed into a horse, lettuce makes an adorable dog, washing machines make a funny face, and a pair of tea bags read a book. This creative artist never runs out of ideas because she can find inspiration from the everyday items around her. In her series of prints titled Household Surrealism, Stenzel rearranges ordinary objects to appear as playful characters with imaginative emotions.
