The painted depth of the oceans is one of the largest animals on Earth. Which animals, you ask? Well, more than 40 species of whales live under the waves and come to the surface just to breathe. Interestingly, the more we learn about whales, the more complex they seem to be. For example, scientists at the University of Witwatersrand in South Africa have discovered that their large brains have a built-in heating system to ensure the proper functioning of the Cold Sea. We know that whales have a large volume of sound and can vary in geographical location. Today, however, we would like to show you some amazing and almost surreal pictures of whales taken at sunset by professional photographer Mary Parkhill. Knosearch reached out to Mary to find out a little more. “Photography has always been a passion, nurtured by the curiosity of the world around us. My inspiration comes from Alaska … nature and wildlife. Fresh, crunchy air, rugged mountains, and the beautiful opportunities that only nature can give us.”
