Research shows that play is an essential part of emotional wellbeing for children. Unfortunately, there is still a lack of dolls available which reflect the diversity in our world. Thankfully, Amy Jandrisevits has provided a solution to this problem. She created unique crafts and activities which give all children a chance to have their own representation when playing with dolls. Through her efforts, “representation matters” has become much more than just a hashtag: it’s a movement towards inclusion and making sure every child feels that they can be seen, heard, and valued.
“A Doll Like Me” is a charitable organization providing dolls to children in need. All dolls are donated items and gifted to kids at no cost. If you’re interested in learning more about them or lending your support, please check out their website or Facebook page for additional information.
